The countdown is on to the Battle of the Badges Law Enforcement Race as well as the Subway Late Models and W-K Chevrolet Modifieds competing on the Historic Half Mile, Friday August 6th!

Friday, August 6: “Battle of the Badges" Law Enforcement Race featuring law enforcement officers from across the state of MO battling it out to raise money for the Special Olympics. Each officer will be driving a custom painted and sponsored Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Race night features the Subway Late Models and W-K Chevrolet Modifieds. Gates open at 3 p.m., Test & Tune for badge competitors only begins at 6 p.m., hot laps 7, racing 7:30. Law Enforcement Appreciation Night, show your badge and save $5 off admission!

The next event at the Missouri State Fair Speedway takes place on Friday, August 6th for the first-ever “Battle of the Badges” event, benefiting the Missouri Special Olympics. The race night features the Subway Late Models and W-K Chevrolet Modifieds in a full night of racing, highlighted by local law enforcement members battling it out in custom painted and sponsored Crown Victoria Police Interceptor race cars to raise money for Special Olympics. The officers will also be competing for bragging rights and the title of “Top Cop” during the action. This event will surely be one for the entire family with lots of entertainment and giveaways as well as the best late model and modified drivers in the Midwest battling for the win at the speedway. General admission for this night is $18, seniors and military $15, kids six to twelve years $9, five and under are free. Law enforcement members may show their badge at the admission area and save $5 on their ticket. Gates will open at 3 p.m. with a test and tune session for the coppers at 6 p.m. Racing begins at 7:30 for the W-K Chevrolet Modifieds and Subway Late Models. For ULMA competitors, this will count as a ULMA points-awarding event.

Advanced tickets are now on sale for the two Pepsi Grandstand events to be held during the 2010 Missouri State Fair. The first event takes place on Tuesday, August 17 as the Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits make their first-ever appearance at the storied fairgrounds along with the Mid America Modified Series (MAMS) and ULMA Late Models. In keeping with the wingless-themed night, the MAMS and ULMA competitors will run without their roofs in an exciting battle to the finish. Racing action will once again close out the fair on Sunday, August 22 when the MLRA and NCRA super late models come rolling into town along with the Winged Outlaw Warriors 360 Sprint Cars. Advanced tickets may be purchased by logging onto the official website of the 2010 Missouri State Fair at www.mostatefair.com. Lucas Oil Non-Winged Sprint Bandits, MAMS (Mid-America Modified Series), and ULMA (United Late Model Association). Tuesday, Aug. 17.
